Occupational Therapist (OT) – School-Based | Full-Time | Ellicott City, MD

Howard County School District is seeking 4 full-time Occupational Therapists to provide services to elementary-aged students in a collaborative environment with excellent mentorship and district support. Position Overview
- Position: Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Location: Ellicott City, MD 21042
- School Year: August 10, 2026 – June 8, 2027
- Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Openings: 4
- Setting: On-site only
Student Population
- Elementary students (Ages 3 through 5th Grade)
- Caseload varies
- May provide services across multiple school sites (discussed during the interview process)
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students with a variety of educational needs
- Support students in Academic Life Skills programs

Work with students with:
- High-level Autism
- Communication needs
- Behavioral needs (district behavioral supports available)
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families to promote student success
Schedule
- Therapists create their own schedules based on student caseloads with approval from the building administrator
- No fixed daily start or end time
- Approximately 21 hours per week dedicated to direct student services
Compensation
- Occupational Therapist (OT): $48–$52/hour
- Strong Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) considered: $30–$40/hour
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Occupational Therapy license required
- On-site availability required
- Strong COTAs are encouraged to apply
