Step into a dynamic, school-based occupational therapy contract role supporting early childhood and kindergarten learners! This exciting opportunity, located near Evanston, IL, is perfect for OTs passionate about helping young students develop key skills in their classroom environments. The assignment runs from August 12 through November 3, offering you a chance to make an immediate and lasting impact during a crucial part of the school year.
You'll collaborate with educators and families to design and implement therapy strategies, all within a friendly and welcoming school environment. The schedule features consistent weekday shifts from 8:00am to 3:30pm, with a guaranteed 7.5-hour day including a lunch break. Your support will empower approximately 25 students, nurturing their growth and independence as they take vital first steps in their educational journey. Compensation starts at $43 per hour and may increase based on your experience.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
- Previous experience working with early childhood or kindergarten populations preferred
- Knowledge of school-based therapeutic approaches and IEP processes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver occupational therapy interventions for early childhood and kindergarten students
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting for each child
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals and overall well-being
