Occupational Therapist School Setting in Homer, LA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist interested in a flexible, virtual contract engagement. This part-time position provides specialized support for students from PreK through high school, focusing on essential evaluations and collaborative work. The assignment begins as soon as possible and will run for one to two months, offering both variety and impact within a brief timeframe.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Louisiana
- Experience providing OT services in school settings preferred
- Comfortable conducting assessments and re-evaluations across all grade levels
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with virtual platforms and documentation tools
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform comprehensive re-evaluations for students across various grade levels
- Conduct PreK evaluations, particularly on Fridays
- Set aside at least one day per week dedicated to completing timely and thorough IEPs
- Supervise a COTA throughout the contract and continue providing supervision after the main assignment ends (supervision continues as a flat fee arrangement, not a separate placement)
- Collaborate with educational teams and families to address student needs
- Ensure compliance with state and district standards for therapy delivery and documentation
