Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners by providing specialized occupational therapy services in a dynamic special education preschool setting. This contract opportunity is located in the Independence, MO area and features an engaging environment where you will collaborate closely with evaluation teams, participate in IEPs, and deliver both consultative and direct OT interventions.
Enjoy flexibility with both part-time (3 days/week) and now full-time hours available, with the preference for a Tuesday-Thursday schedule (but Monday-Wednesday is possible), from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Your role focuses on early intervention, supporting children’s growth and development through evidence-based OT strategies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist licensure.
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
- Strong ability to perform screenings, assessments, and develop intervention plans.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (evaluation, IEP teams).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for preschool-aged children.
- Participate in IEP team meetings, contributing expertise to student planning.
- Provide high-quality direct and consultative OT services.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and track student progress.
- Consult with teachers, families, and staff to support carryover of strategies in classroom and home settings.
- Adapt and modify activities to foster access to curriculum and participation.
