Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapist license and eligibility to practice in North Carolina
- Prior experience delivering occupational therapy services in an educational setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, educators, and families
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs
- Familiarity with IEP process and documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine student needs and establish baselines
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy interventions within the school setting
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student participation and success
- Assist students in developing the fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills necessary for academic and functional independence
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Educate staff and caregivers on effective strategies to generalize skills across school and home environments
