Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for New York State
- Previous experience as an OT in an educational or pediatric setting
- Strong knowledge of school-based therapy practices and IEP implementation
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to varied student needs
- Experience with documentation and progress reporting in a school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct 30 half-hour therapy sessions per week with elementary students, spread over three workdays
- Assess student abilities and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each child’s progress
- Document session notes, progress, and recommendations in a timely manner
- Provide guidance and resources to educators and parents for reinforcing OT strategies
- Participate in staff meetings and IEP discussions as requested
This position offers a consistent daytime schedule—8:30 AM to 3:30 PM—across three selected days each week, balancing professional commitment and personal time.
