School Occupational Therapist - Lockport, New York

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current and valid OT license for New York State
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and families
- Ability to assess students, develop individualized intervention plans, and monitor progress
- Familiarity with IEP process and documentation requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and recommend adaptive strategies and modifications
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to develop intervention plans and strategies to enhance student participation and performance in the classroom
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation in compliance with legal and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team conferences, and ongoing professional development opportunities
