Occupational Therapist School Setting in Maple Park, IL
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as an Occupational Therapist working in a welcoming school environment near Maple Park, IL. This contract opportunity allows you to share your expertise with both high school and elementary school-aged students during the upcoming academic term, starting September 8, 2026, and concluding January 8, 2027.
You'll use your skills to assess student needs, develop individualized therapy plans, and collaborate with staff and families. While the exact caseload and hours are to be determined, your flexibility and dedication will help empower students of varying abilities to reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Active Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with a variety of physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities
- Ability to create meaningful, measurable goals tailored to each student
- Skill in documenting progress and collaborating with educational teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Key responsibilities involve:
- Evaluating students’ functional skills and developing intervention programs
- Implementing therapy sessions focused on fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
- Coordinating and consulting with teachers, aides, and parents to maximize student success
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing professional insights
- Maintaining accurate records and timely reporting as required
