An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting student success within a vibrant middle school environment. This part-time position involves delivering essential services to a small caseload of 5th and 6th graders, fostering their growth in academic and functional skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Occupational Therapist license and GaPSC Certification (both required)
- Previous experience in school-based settings highly valued
- Background working with students with disabilities is preferred
- Clearance documentation must be provided prior to starting
- Ability to deliver onsite services exclusively
Role Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy to two students in 5th and 6th grade, 30 minutes per week per student, as outlined in their IEPs
- Conduct assessments, develop strategies, and support students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional development in the classroom
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and broader school teams to optimize students’ educational access and engagement
- Recommend and guide the implementation of classroom accommodations and modifications tailored to individual student needs
- Track student progress, maintain thorough and timely documentation, and ensure compliance with IEP requirements and relevant regulations
- Participate in ongoing communication with school personnel regarding goals, interventions, and student outcomes
