Make a meaningful impact by supporting students from PreK through 8th grade as a contracted Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school environment near Marrero, LA. This full-time, onsite position will have you collaborating closely with a Physical Therapist, Adaptive Physical Education specialist, and a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (available one day per week), ensuring a collaborative and supportive team setting. You’ll play a crucial role in fostering student independence and success across various functional and educational settings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure required.
- Prior experience working with school-based caseloads, particularly in PreK-8 settings, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, therapists, students, and families.
- Ability to adapt interventions and strategies to meet a wide range of student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to a diverse PreK–8th grade caseload at a single school site.
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans supporting student educational goals.
- Work collaboratively in a shared office environment with physical and adaptive physical education professionals.
- Offer guidance and delegate tasks to a COTA on-site weekly.
- Document all interventions and collaborate for eligibility and progress reporting.
- Engage with teachers and staff for effective integration of recommendations within the classroom environment.
