Step into a pivotal role providing Occupational Therapy services to students from PreK through 8th grade. As a valued professional in this contract opportunity, you’ll work full-time within a supportive educational setting, offering your expertise to help children thrive academically, socially, and developmentally. Your workspace is shared with a dedicated Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education professional, and you’ll benefit from the assistance of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant one day each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy (OT) license for Louisiana
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
- Ability to support diverse student needs, including those with developmental, sensory, or physical challenges
- Comfortable collaborating with educational teams and families
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation abilities
What You’ll Do:
- Provide targeted OT services to PreK-8th grade students based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment goals, and document progress
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and allied professionals to integrate therapy into daily routines
- Educate families and school teams on strategies to enhance student participation and independence
- Adapt classroom materials and environments to facilitate student access and learning
- Maintain timely, accurate therapy records in accordance with state and district guidelines
This contract runs from August through May, aligning with the academic school year and typical hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, onsite at a vibrant learning community in Louisiana.
