This position spans the 2026-2027 school year and is ideal for professionals who enjoy working with grades 3–5, focusing on consultative services and hands-on interventions.
Key requirements:
- Valid licensure and credentials to practice occupational therapy in Illinois
- Experience or strong interest in school-based OT, particularly with elementary-age students
- Background in supporting fine motor development and sensory needs
- Ability to collaborate with educators and parents, delivering both consultation and some direct therapy sessions
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and flexibility in adapting to a dynamic school setting
Your role will include:
- Working 2–3 days per week (2 full days or split across additional days with fewer hours), from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm
- Providing occupational therapy services in one building, primarily through consults, with a small caseload (about 25 students)
- Delivering direct interventions focused on fine motor and sensory skills as needed
- Participating as a supportive member of the multidisciplinary team
- Keeping thorough records of services and progress, and participating in IEP processes when required
- Communicating with staff and families to maximize student success
