Step into a rewarding contract role supporting early learners with a focus on Occupational Therapy. This position offers an opportunity to work onsite and contribute to early childhood assessments in a vibrant school environment near Naperville, IL. You will work three days per week, totaling 22.5 hours weekly, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to make a direct impact on young students as they develop crucial skills for school success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois State Occupational Therapist license issued by the IDFPR
- Previous experience with school-based Occupational Therapy, especially with early childhood or preschool populations, is highly desirable
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, social workers, and families to support student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments for early childhood students, identifying areas of need and collaborating to develop intervention plans
- Work onsite as an integral part of the educational team, consulting with staff and family members to support individualized education plans
- Document all evaluations, progress reports, and treatment sessions thoroughly and accurately
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to help meet developmental milestones
- Educate and coach staff on accommodations and strategies to facilitate student participation
