Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure and certification to practice Occupational Therapy in a school setting
- Experience with pediatric populations, specifically early childhood (ages 3 to 5), is preferred
- Background working in schools as an OT and familiarity with special education processes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork with MDE/IEP teams
- Ability to evaluate and assess student needs and determine eligibility for services
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide both direct and consultative occupational therapy services to preschool-aged students
- Conduct thorough evaluations and reassessments to determine students’ needs for related services
- Work closely with other professionals and families as part of the MDE/IEP team, contributing OT expertise to interdisciplinary planning
- Develop, update, and monitor individualized education program goals, ensuring interventions remain effective and progress is tracked
- Support students’ growth and participation in learning activities by addressing functional, sensory, and adaptive needs
