This contract position invites you to provide expert OT support for the upcoming 26/27 school year. Your responsibilities will include conducting evaluations and supervising a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), who is on-site weekly. The district requires your specialized expertise for eight hours per month, with one visit scheduled each month—an ideal situation for those seeking an additional, highly flexible assignment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist license
- Experience with school-aged children and familiarity with IEPs and school-based documentation
- Previous supervision of COTAs is highly valued
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to confidently manage evaluations, consultations, and supervision responsibilities independently
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive OT evaluations as required for students in accordance with school district policies and state regulations
- Oversee and provide guidance to an on-site COTA, ensuring high standards of care and support for students
- Document assessments, progress, and supervisory notes in compliance with district and federal requirements
- Collaborate with school staff and contribute to IEP meetings when needed
- Offer professional recommendations for interventions and strategies to enhance student access and participation in school
