Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Experience working in a school-based or pediatric environment
- Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in OT for children ages 3-5
- Familiarity with IEP processes and school documentation requirements
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt and tailor interventions to meet each student’s unique needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct (hands-on) and indirect (consultative) OT services to support young children’s functional skills in the educational setting
- Evaluate and assess student abilities during initial assessments or re-evaluations to determine eligibility and the need for ongoing related services
- Collaborate with team members, including teachers, parents, and other service providers, at MDE (Multidisciplinary Evaluation) and IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings
- Develop, revise, and track progress on IEP goals and objectives to ensure students achieve their fullest potential
- Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications to enhance student participation
- Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant documentation for all services provided
