Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Alabama
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Ability to travel between two elementary school locations as assigned
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and creativity in supporting diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in alignment with IEP goals
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to determine students’ needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop intervention plans
- Document progress, maintain timely records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide consultation and training for educational staff to optimize student participation
- Support students in developing fine motor, perception, self-care, and other daily living skills
