Two contract positions are available immediately, working on site with PreK–12 students across four schools in the Birmingham area. This role offers the opportunity to engage one-on-one and in small groups with a diverse caseload of 50–60 students, with flexible delivery options that include individual, small-group, and push-in support based on IEP requirements.
Your schedule will follow typical school hours, 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, and the contract runs through early June. No teletherapy positions are currently available; all services take place on campus.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and current Alabama Occupational Therapy certification and/or license (documentation required)
- Recent experience delivering occupational therapy services in a school setting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and ability to adapt therapy based on student needs and frequency (e.g., 30-minute sessions weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with varying needs
- Exceptional time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to travel between multiple locations in the Birmingham region
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to students’ IEP goals through individual, small group, and classroom-based intervention
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in accordance with school and legal requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive student plans
- Provide consultative support and training to staff and families as needed
