Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active, Alabama-specific Occupational Therapy certification or license (must provide proof of credential)
- School-based occupational therapy experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and tailored intervention planning
- Ability to work effectively both one-on-one and in small group settings
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and educational staff
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group occupational therapy services to students (caseload of approximately 50-60 per assignment)
- Conduct therapy sessions as prescribed by IEP: 30 minutes weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
- Travel between four local schools within the district, adhering to a consistent schedule of 7:45 am - 3:45 pm
- Implement push-in support within classroom environments when indicated
- Assess, document, and evaluate student progress, participating in IEP meetings and developing treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Maintain clear, compliant records to support student growth and regulatory guidelines
