Occupational Therapist School Setting in Rantoul, IL
Make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist serving schools in the Champaign, IL area. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to deliver direct services to a diverse student population, supporting their educational and functional success.
In this role, you'll collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored interventions that empower students with various abilities to thrive within the school environment. You’ll join a supportive environment where your expertise in occupational therapy will be valued as you make a tangible impact every day.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid state license (or eligible for licensure) as required for school-based practice
- Prior experience within a school setting preferred, but motivated new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage caseloads, documentation, and collaboration with school teams
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students according to IEP goals
- Assess students using appropriate evaluation tools and write detailed reports
- Develop and implement intervention plans that target students’ individual needs
- Consult with teachers, support staff, and parents to foster a collaborative approach to student progress
- Document treatment sessions and track student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to student development plans
