Elementary School Occupational Therapist
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) for a school-based contract position in Ridgefield, Connecticut, for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will serve students at an elementary school, with all services provided on one campus for a convenient and consistent schedule. The OT will collaborate with teachers, families, and other school-based professionals to support students' participation and success in the educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations, assessments, and direct services to elementary students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.
- Address fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, and functional skills as appropriate.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers.
- Provide classroom-based strategies and recommendations to support student independence and participation.
Qualifications
- Connecticut Occupational Therapist licensure required.
- Appropriate Connecticut school-based credentialing required.
- Ability to work effectively in an elementary school environment.
Experience
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students is beneficial.
Skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability and a student-centered approach to occupational therapy services.
