Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or highly experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students aged 3-21 across several campuses in the Southwest Houston area. This full-time position is available for the 2026–2027 school year, with a schedule running from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027. You will deliver occupational therapy services within an assigned geographic zone selected to minimize commute times, serving 6-7 schools in your area.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active Texas OT or COTA licensure
- Extensive experience working in schools or pediatric settings (multi-year preferred for COTAs)
- Strong background in conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, and participating in ARDs/IEP meetings
- Proficient with documentation and familiarity with school health software preferred (experience with SHARES/Onward/excel logs beneficial)
- Commitment to full-time hours (37.5/week), Monday to Friday, with flexibility for a start time between 7:30–8:00am
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 70 students, with 30-40 receiving direct services on a rotating schedule (not all seen weekly)
- Provide consult and direct services, focusing on student-centered interventions and collaborative team support
- Conduct assessments, contribute to IEPs, and complete documentation accurately and on time
- Serve as the lead therapist for your assigned schools, without COTA support
- Travel between schools within your designated zone (assignments considerate of your home ZIP code)
- Complete all district-mandated credentialing, including fingerprint clearance
