Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in California (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working in school-based settings providing therapy to children and adolescents
- Knowledge of IEPs, goal-setting, and school compliance requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to diverse student needs and learning environments
- Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic caseload
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Provide direct OT interventions, focusing on fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate OT strategies into the classroom
- Document assessments, progress notes, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Attend IEP meetings and advocate for best practices supporting student achievement
- Offer consultative support to staff on adaptive equipment and classroom modifications
