Step into a pivotal role supporting students in a thriving educational environment as a contract Occupational Therapist. In this impactful position based near Savoy, IL, you’ll work directly with students, providing essential therapeutic services to help them succeed academically and beyond. Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting highly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Passion for working with students of varying ages and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess, develop, and implement treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote student success and access to curriculum
- Maintain thorough progress notes and contribute to IEP meetings
- Support students with a variety of disabilities, ensuring effective interventions
- Promote fine motor, sensory, and self-help skills within classroom environments
- Stay updated on best practices in school-based occupational therapy
