Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in an intermediate school setting near Schaumburg, IL. This role focuses on providing occupational therapy expertise for grades 3–5 during the 2026–2027 school year, from September through mid-June. You'll maintain a consistent, supportive presence in one building, collaborating with a dedicated educational team to enrich the student experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for Illinois
- Previous experience in a school-based OT role, with an emphasis on elementary or intermediate grades preferred
- Strong background in fine motor and sensory support interventions
- Excellent communication skills for effective consulting and collaboration
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Role Overview:
- Serve 3rd to 5th grade students, primarily in a consultative capacity, while delivering some direct services as needed
- Support approximately 25 students within one building, ensuring continuity of care
- Focus on fine motor and sensory-based strategies, adapting interventions to individual student needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to optimize student participation and success
- Maintain timely documentation and contribute to the IEP process, sharing professional insights as required
Schedule:
- 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, 2 to 3 days per week (ideal for those seeking work-life balance)
- Options available: 2 full days or a few days with reduced hours
- Contract duration: 9/8/2026 – 6/16/2027
