Occupational Therapist School Setting - Torrington, CT
Step into a dynamic school-based role serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This full-time contract assignment will cover an FMLA maternity leave for approximately 12 weeks, with a strong likelihood of being extended, though the initial commitment is to the duration of the leave. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact across a diverse student population in a district-wide setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut OT license or COTA certification (CT DPH License and passed NBCOT Exam required)
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Well-versed in supporting students with a variety of disabilities
- Reliable personal transportation
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary education teams
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Fully comfortable committing to a temporary position with the possibility, but not guarantee, of extension
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students, ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation meeting district and legal requirements
- Collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and families to support student growth
- Support students across multiple school campuses as assigned
- COTAs will provide care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
This contract role offers an immediate start with a structured schedule spanning approximately 7–7.5 hours per day, and the chance to shape young lives across an entire school district. Virtual interviews add an extra layer of convenience.
