School Occupational Therapist | Waukegan, Illinois

This role provides the chance to work within an intermediate school setting, supporting grades 3-5. You’ll collaborate as part of a dedicated team and nurture student growth in a supportive environment near Waukegan, IL.
As an occupational therapist in this role, you will primarily offer consult services, with some direct support focused on fine motor and sensory needs. Your experience and insights will help empower approximately 25 students to achieve their highest levels of independence and participation in the classroom.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with school-based experience
- Proficiency in fine motor and sensory strategies for elementary-aged children
- Skilled in consultative and direct intervention models within educational settings
- Strong communication and collaborative abilities with students, staff, and families
- Capable of independent caseload management and flexible adaptation to student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative OT services for students in grades 3-5 at a single intermediate building
- Deliver direct occupational therapy for fine motor and sensory support, as needed
- Develop, monitor, and document individualized intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to foster student success in the classroom
- Maintain compliance with state and district procedures and timelines
Enjoy a schedule that fits your needs – work 2-3 days per week (either two full days, or spread out over more days if you prefer shorter shifts), from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm. The contract runs the full academic year, from September 8, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
