Step into a vital district-wide role supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade as a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT), or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), on a full-time contract basis. You’ll be making a meaningful impact by covering a 12-week FMLA maternity leave, with the strong possibility of continuing beyond the initial assignment. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are fully committed to contributing to a temporary leave assignment, understanding that an extension is likely but not guaranteed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Active Connecticut OT license, or COTA license/certification (CT DPH license and NBCOT exam passed)
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Reliable transportation to travel throughout the district
- Confidence working with students from early childhood through high school
- Commitment to a temporary maternity leave coverage (with possible extension)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver school-based occupational therapy services district-wide, including assessment, intervention, and documentation
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized student plans
- Support student progress and help foster independence in academics and daily life skills
- For COTAs: provide therapy under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, as required
