School Occupational Therapist | West Hartford, Connecticut

Step into a vital district-wide role as an Occupational Therapist (OT) covering an FMLA leave, where you’ll engage with a diverse student population. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) with active Connecticut licensure are also encouraged to apply. This is a full-time contract assignment anticipated to last approximately 12 weeks, with a strong potential for extension beyond the initial term—though the contract will only reflect coverage for the maternity leave.
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut OT license or COTA (CT DPH License; NBCOT certified)
- School-based therapy experience preferred
- Reliable, consistent transportation
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fulfilling the temporary nature of this role, with a clear understanding of the contract duration and possible extension
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students Pre-K–12 across the district
- Assess individual student needs and implement appropriate therapy plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of progress and therapy sessions
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student outcomes
- For COTAs: provide services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
