Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California
- Experience in school settings supporting children or adolescents preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, therapists, and families
- Ability to implement occupational therapy plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced school environment
- Current knowledge of therapy documentation requirements and best practices
Role Responsibilities:
- Support students in developing and improving functional skills necessary for school participation
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services as directed by the Occupational Therapist
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate therapy strategies within educational activities
- Document progress, session notes, and observations accurately and in a timely fashion
- Modify activities, environments, or tools to enhance student independence and access to learning opportunities
- Encourage positive engagement and participation through creative therapy approaches
