Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California
- Previous experience in school-based settings preferred (internships and fieldwork count)
- Strong understanding of pediatric and adolescent developmental needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, educators, and families
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in executing individualized education plan (IEP) goals for students
- Provide direct therapy to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support the development of fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive strategies for daily school activities
- Collect and record data on student progress
- Work as a positive, integral member of the school’s multidisciplinary team
- Communicate progress and collaborate with staff and families as needed
