Embark on a rewarding full-time opportunity supporting students by providing essential occupational therapy services in an educational setting. This contract role, beginning as soon as possible and expected to run through November—with a strong possibility for extension—will allow you to make a difference while covering for an FMLA leave. The specific caseload details will be discussed during your interview, ensuring your expertise is matched to the unique needs of the students.
Qualifications:
- Holds current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Massachusetts
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic educational environment
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, therapists, families, and other school staff
- Passion for promoting student success through therapeutic interventions
What you’ll do:
- Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy supports to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with the supervising Occupational Therapist to design and implement effective treatment plans
- Help students develop or improve motor skills, organization, self-care, and independence necessary for classroom participation
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with school, state, and federal guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights regarding student performance and therapy strategies
