Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and implementation
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults
- Ability to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Organizational skills for managing caseload and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in providing direct and consultative services within the school environment
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory integration, self-care, and adaptive skills
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation for student progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed and implement individualized plans under the supervision of an occupational therapist
- Adapt equipment, activities, and learning materials according to student needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere where all students can succeed
