Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Experience working in school-based settings, particularly with middle school students, strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to implement supportive services as directed by Occupational Therapists
- Flexible, adaptable, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and self-regulation skills required for classroom participation
- Assist in the preparation and adaptation of activities to facilitate student progress
- Collect and document data on student performance and progress toward goals
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support generalization of skills throughout the school day
- Maintain accurate records and open communication with school team members
