This position begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting, you’ll play a vital role in student development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful interventions and make a significant impact in educational environments.
What you’ll bring:
- Active COTA licensure with eligibility to work in educational settings
- Previous experience or strong interest in working with middle school-aged children
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and specialized instruction plans
- Flexibility and a collaborative spirit for working alongside staff, families, and students
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Assisting in the implementation of individualized treatment plans and therapeutic activities
- Documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records in accordance with school and federal regulations
- Contributing to IEP meetings and collaborating with educators and parents to support student success
- Adapting and designing classroom tools and strategies to facilitate student participation
