In this role, you will collaborate directly with one of the district’s Occupational Therapists, providing skilled support to elementary students. Your day will typically involve working with 9-10 students, focusing on 30-minute, individualized therapy sessions that foster student development and independence.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in South Carolina
- Experience providing therapeutic services in school settings or with pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with OTs and educational staff
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation for multiple schools
- Adaptability and compassion in meeting the diverse needs of young learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to elementary students, in alignment with IEP goals
- Work closely with a supervising OT to implement targeted treatment plans
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation for all therapy sessions
- Communicate progress and challenges to staff and contribute to team meetings as required
- Flexibly travel between assigned school locations as part of the weekly schedule
