We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a school-based team in a contract position near Maryville, TN. You will collaborate closely with occupational therapists, educators, and families to support students' functional skills and maximize their success in the classroom environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active COTA license valid in the state of Tennessee
- Recent experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and goal-driven therapy
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Compassionate approach to serving children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students under OT supervision
- Assist in implementing educational and therapeutic strategies within individualized plans
- Collect data and maintain accurate documentation on student progress
- Support teachers with strategies and classroom adaptations to promote participation and success
- Engage with parents and staff to share progress and recommendations
- Adhere to school policies and uphold best practices in occupational therapy
