Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Torrance, CA
Make a real difference in students’ lives as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working with an elementary caseload. This is a full-time, onsite contract position in a supportive school setting, ideal for professionals with previous school-based experience. The assignment runs from August 13, 2026, through June 9, 2027, offering meaningful work during the academic year.
As the elementary COTA, you’ll deliver crucial occupational therapy services to young learners, collaborating with teachers and other specialists to support each child’s growth. The role is based in a welcoming educational environment, with work hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in California
- Previous experience working in school-based settings is required
- Comfort providing therapy for elementary-aged students
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple student needs effectively
- Willingness to participate in a virtual interview process
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions to students, ensuring IEP goals are met
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster student success
- Help adapt classroom activities and environments to student needs
- Engage positively with students, fostering independence and functional skills
