School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Van Nuys, California
Step into a dynamic school environment as a vital support for students’ learning and growth. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you'll work directly with elementary-aged children, collaborating with a passionate team to deliver high-quality, impactful therapy services within a school setting. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 9, 2027. Your days will be spent supporting young learners Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, within a nurturing and collaborative elementary campus.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California
- Prior school-based COTA experience required
- Ability to manage an elementary student caseload effectively
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with team members, teachers, and families
- Committed to student-centered therapy practices
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy support to elementary students as outlined in their IEPs
- Utilize evidence-based interventions and adapt strategies for diverse student needs
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and support staff to integrate therapy into the school day
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Engage in school initiatives and contribute to a positive, supportive campus environment
