Make a real impact supporting students across K-12 as a contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the upcoming semester. This assignment offers a flexible 3-days-per-week schedule (Monday, Tuesday, and your choice of the third day), working 24 hours weekly, and begins in early January through late May.
You’ll join a collaborative educational environment, providing care for a caseload of 31 students. Supported by an Occupational Therapist, you’ll deliver services that enhance students’ school participation and daily living skills. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with a diverse group of learners while contributing your expertise in school-based therapy.
Qualifications:
- Active COTA license issued by the state of Illinois
- Previous experience working in educational settings or with children preferred
- Ability to collaborate with OTs, teachers, and school staff
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy sessions to students K-12 under OT supervision
- Assist with developing and implementing therapy plans individualized to student needs
- Accurately document services provided; write quarterly progress minutes
- Work collaboratively within the school team to support student IEP goals
- Maintain compliance with state and school regulations related to therapy services
