This full-time position offers the chance to work across two nearby school campuses, supporting elementary and middle school students (grades K-8). You'll collaborate with educators and families to empower students to succeed and achieve their goals, mostly within general education and resource classroom settings, with some involvement in self-contained special education rooms.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license.
- Prior experience in pediatric or school-based environments strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with sensory integration and experience setting and documenting student goals and progress.
- Comfortable working with a diverse range of students and collaborating with multidisciplinary school teams.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students based on individual education plans (IEPs).
- Help students develop essential life and learning skills to support participation in school activities.
- Complete assessments, maintain thorough documentation, and contribute to progress reports.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Participate in IEP meetings and strategy sessions to ensure best student outcomes.
- Serve one school location per day, eliminating the need for mid-day travel.
