Occupational Therapist School Setting - Schaumburg, IL
Make an impact supporting students’ growth as a contract Occupational Therapist serving elementary and middle schoolers, located in the Algonquin and Schaumburg, IL area. This full-time, school-based position offers the chance to work across two campuses, empowering K-8 students with a broad spectrum of abilities and needs. In this position, you’ll collaborate with educators to deliver OT interventions in general education, resource, and select self-contained special education settings. Each day is spent at one site, ensuring you can focus on delivering quality care without commuting between campuses during the school day.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois OT license required.
- Previous experience in schools or with pediatric clients preferred.
- Strong skills in sensory integration and familiarity developing and tracking student progress on IEP goals.
- Ability to support a diverse range of student needs, demonstrating adaptability and a team-centered approach.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct OT services to K-8 students, helping them build essential academic and life skills for classroom success.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to address student needs and integrate OT strategies into daily routines.
- Document interventions, maintain IEP records, and communicate progress to families and other team members.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights to help shape personalized learning plans.
