Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience working in school-based and/or healthcare settings preferred
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement effective therapy interventions for students with diverse needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and other professionals
- Knowledge of IEPs, documentation practices, and goal setting in a school environment
- Adaptability to meet changing priorities and student schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Evaluate student needs and develop targeted intervention strategies to support academic, behavioral, and functional success
- Collaborate with teachers, faculty, and families to integrate therapeutic activities into daily routines
- Document progress, maintain timely records, and participate in team meetings related to student care
- Educate staff and provide resources to foster accessibility and inclusivity within the school community
