Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Ability to conduct comprehensive initial and re-evaluations for special education eligibility
- Familiarity with MTSS and IEP processes
- Strong communication skills for effective consultation and collaboration with school teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite occupational therapy services to middle school students, delivering skilled interventions tailored to each individual’s needs
- Serve as a valued member of building-level teams, participating in student support meetings and collaborating to determine eligibility and plan services
- Conduct assessments, re-evaluations, and contribute expertise in the eligibility determination process
- Support students through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and ensure appropriate implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Consult with educational staff and caregivers, sharing strategies to promote the generalization of skills across settings
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school and district guidelines
