Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state of Rhode Island
- Experience providing OT services within school settings preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for working with diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and needs within the classroom environment
- Develop and execute individualized, evidence-based interventions to promote student success
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student goals
- Document student progress and maintain accurate treatment records in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations for accommodations and modifications
- Deliver both direct and consultative OT services as required by student plans
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy
