You'll work on-site across multiple locations, collaborating with K-12 teams to enhance student learning and participation. This position offers a consistent 32.5-hour workweek with a manageable caseload of 30-40 students and the assignment is scheduled to continue through June 2027.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy. A master’s degree in occupational therapy and current licensure is required. Please note, this role does not allow for COTA supervision.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy (required)
- Valid occupational therapist license in Michigan
- Previous experience working with school-aged children or within a school setting preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Skilled in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Organized, flexible, and able to adjust techniques to a diverse caseload
- Comfortable working exclusively on-site across multiple school locations
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans
- Provide direct occupational therapy to assigned students
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ education
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Contribute to IEP meetings and participate in ongoing student evaluations
- Offer consultation and training to staff and families about therapeutic strategies
