Occupational Therapist School Setting - Des Plaines, IL
Make an impact supporting early childhood learners as an Occupational Therapist in a part-time contract position close to Des Plaines, IL. Key Qualifications:
- Active certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required.
- Ability to travel within school buildings as needed throughout the district.
- Experience in pediatric and/or special education settings is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of school-based occupational therapy practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy evaluations and interventions for early childhood students.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and adjust interventions based on ongoing assessment.
- Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings and provide input to support students' success.
- Travel between district school buildings as necessary to meet student needs.
