Step into a pivotal role as a contract Occupational Therapist, making an immediate and lasting impact supporting students’ growth and success. Working 40 hours each week, you’ll provide expert therapy services in a dynamic school-based setting within the Sun City, AZ area, close to Goodyear.
Your extensive knowledge of OT practices in schools will play a crucial part in student development and overall educational team success. This position is an excellent fit for someone passionate about fostering students’ independence and helping them excel in their day-to-day school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Arizona Occupational Therapist licensure
- Prior experience working with children in school settings, preferably as a school-based OT
- Familiarity with IEP and 504 plan processes
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Strong ability to interpret data, assessments, and present findings to diverse audiences
- Flexible, adaptable, and dedicated to student-centered service delivery
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct student screenings and comprehensive assessments
- Interpret evaluation results and use data to inform intervention planning
- Evaluate students’ needs and functional abilities related to their school environment
- Clearly communicate assessment results to parents and IEP team members
- Develop, implement, and regularly monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) and/or 504 plans
- Deliver direct therapy services, supporting student participation and success in school activities
- Collaborate with teachers and support the work of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), if assigned
