An exciting opportunity is available for a contract Occupational Therapist with school-based experience to support K-12 learners near beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado. This role lets you engage with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify students’ functional abilities and challenges
- Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate student participation in school routines and activities
- Delivering direct and consultative occupational therapy services designed to promote independence in the educational environment
- Monitoring progress, adjusting interventions, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing therapy goals tailored to each student’s needs
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt interventions to a variety of age groups and learning abilities
- Dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students
