Occupational Therapist School Setting in Hamden, CT

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for the state of Connecticut.
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Previous experience providing OT services within school settings preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development and the ability to contribute effectively to IEP meetings.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for students according to their educational needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise on accommodations and modifications.
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students, supporting fine motor, sensory processing, and functional school skills.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with educational and professional standards.
- Engage with families and educators to promote carryover of therapeutic strategies.
