This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to work directly with a diverse caseload, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and support staff to empower students in achieving their academic and developmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) license required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois or eligibility preferred
- Previous experience working in school-based settings, particularly with elementary and high school students
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and adaptive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Implement therapy sessions focused on improving functional, social, and academic skills
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and therapy outcomes
- Provide consultative support to classroom teachers and school staff on accommodations and modifications
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure coordinated and effective therapeutic services
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and objectives
